The Opae ula shrimp Forum and online store

Hey guys so I've been struggling keeping my Chaeto alive for a minute, my tanks fine and cycled but I wanted some fresh green chaeto for my shrimp but somehow I've manged to kill it. I have fertilizer, a light, not sure what I could be doing wrong. To much light? The tanks nearish a window. Its a 2.5 gallon, Lava rock, fully cycled, temps sitting at 78 hoping some of you can give me your secrets. My Chaeto has always been kind of flat and lifeless and now its just fully falling apart which is a good sign of its passed on. ;A;

I’m sure someone will weigh in with some advice but I don’t really do anything to keep mine alive, it tends to grow then look like it’s dead and comes back and does this over and over lol.

@odin, Haha fair thats what it seemed like to me to with everyone and I don't get where I'm going wrong with it haha. May try moving it out of direct sun to see if it helps at all.

So what's the goal for your chaeto? Catch me now while I've already had a few drinks and I tell some secrets.... Ok so the pics are sideways and that's probably the way I'm feeling but maybe Odin can fix the issue...please. So what do you want yours to look like? Any of these fancy your taste?

Heyyooo! I want number 3 or 4 personally to look nice with my rock wall. And I can’t get it to not melt makes me sad lol I am ready my notebooks out!

Your chaeto is melting? Are you using a full marine species?

Maybe a fertiliser will work :)

I purchased GhaetoGro off amazon and was using that which I heard was preatty good so ahhh

I didn't think so, I got it from a guy on Ebay who also keeps Opae but perhaps thats been my problem? I got 2 big batches but neither took off, you have any recommended sellers? How would I know its not a full marine species, I'd buy it from here but doesn't ship to where I'm at

Did you buy on the US eBay site? Have a link? Really only reason it will melt is if it's a SW version. I experienced that before.
