It is so difficult to catch juvenile. They swim very fast than adult.

I catch them as larvae and move them that way with a glass shrimp catcher, it works pretty well.

Today i have ordered a new tank lid for this breeder tank, the one i currently have doesn't fit very well and has a huge gap on one side (the gap is there to let you have access to filters and heaters etc) but its causing me to lose around 2 - 3 litres of water a week from evaporation. This new lid is very transparent acrylic cut so it sits on top of the actual tank and has a very slight cut corner just enough to let the heater cables out. Hopefully this will reduce the evaporation. I don't own a RO/DI filter system so i have to drive out with the dreaded 25litre drums every month or so to fill up. I'm not sure if this will improve breeding or reduce it so i will have to experiment a bit.

It pays to shop around as one company wanted £90 but i got a different place to cut it and deliver it for £39! It should be with me next week.

I checked on the breeder tank this morning and have 2 new larvae floating around, more should show up in the next 3 days no doubt. I cant see the mother who is releasing them but i'm sure she is just hiding.
